around the topic. \u00a0 \u00a0Make sure to check out the <a title=\"LevelUp Book club on twitter\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/search\/%23levelupbc\" target=\"_blank\">the hash tag for levelupbc<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During my research on game based learning, I stumbled upon their blog. \u00a0 \u00a0<a title=\"about us levelupbc\" href=\"http:\/\/levelupbc.blogspot.com\/p\/about-us.html\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Winner<\/a> and <a title=\"levelupbc aboutus\" href=\"http:\/\/levelupbc.blogspot.com\/p\/about-us.html\" target=\"_blank\">Jennifer LaGarde<\/a> have created a book club community around gamification. \u00a0 The gamification community seeks to use ideas from game design to &#8220;spice up&#8221; the activity of a community. \u00a0 In a leadership context, I have enjoyed learning about this topic from the book &#8220;Gamestorming&#8221; , a book applying game mechanics to brain storming and exploration. \u00a0 \u00a0 This book also has a wonderful wiki for simple games that you can use for business meetings or classes:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gogamestorm.com\/\">http:\/\/www.gogamestorm.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Matthew and Jennifer have done an amazing job of using the craft of gamification on twitter. \u00a0 For more details on their latest challenge, please visit <a title=\"Level up book club challenge\" href=\"http:\/\/levelupbc.blogspot.com\/2012\/07\/and-task-5-winner-is.html\" target=\"_blank\">their blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>How has the #levelupbc community inspired me?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Doing a book club on Twitter, Google+ and Facebook is an amazing way to grow our minds and grow relationships.<\/li>\n<li>I have been blown away by the <a title=\"LiveBinder on GBL\" href=\"http:\/\/www.livebinders.com\/play\/play_or_edit?id=439108\" target=\"_blank\">resources their community has created<\/a>. \u00a0 As a student of game design for teaching, \u00a0I am looking forward to study the links, stories, videos, and games they have collected.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"diigo\" href=\"http:\/\/www.diigo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Diigo <\/a>and <a title=\"LiveBinders\" href=\"http:\/\/www.livebinders.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">livebinders.com<\/a> are cool tools for organizing ideas. \u00a0I love how they organized the ideas from their twitter community.<\/li>\n<li>Leader boards and authentic thank you\u2019s can be a powerful way to celebrate people from your community.<\/li>\n<li>Matthew and\u00a0Jennifer are passionate about their craft of library science. \u00a0 They have shown to me that libraries can re-invent themselves. \u00a0 Jennifer created an awesome &#8220;infographic&#8221; showing ways her library is <a title=\"Library annual report\" href=\"http:\/\/www.librarygirl.net\/2012\/06\/year-in-making-my-annual-report.html\" target=\"_blank\">engaging students in the past year<\/a>. \u00a0 Very cool!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div>Matthew and Jennifer&#8230;
